Friends of Templemoor

Who are the Friends of Templemoor?

Friends of Templemoor is the name of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) of Templemoor Infant and Nursery school. All families and staff at the school are automatically ‘Friends’ and we welcome parents, grandparents and carers from all year groups including Nursery. We are a registered charity and our committee consists of four posts - Chairperson, Vice Chair, Secretary and Treasurer. These are voluntary roles, filled by parents with children at the school. They are flexible positions and can be shared. We rely on volunteers from all year groups to make our events a success.

What do the Friends of Templemoor do?

We raise valuable funds for the school by organising events. We want families to have fun and get to know each other and all the money we raise goes directly to the school. Our regular events include monthly cake sales, lolly sales in the summer, Christmas fair, Summer fair, family nights and an Easter egg hunt. We work with the Friends of Moorlands as much as possible and aim to hold a joint event whenever we can. We welcome Moorlands families at our events.

How can I get involved?

There are lots of opportunities to get involved and we need as much help as possible! At the fairs and family nights we need people to work in the kitchen, on the bar and on various stalls but we also need lots of people behind the scenes - cake bakers, chilli makers, raffle ticket envelope stuffers, the list goes on!

  • Look out for letters in book bags which will give information on volunteers for specific events.
  • Like our Facebook page - Friends of Templemoor to keep up-to-date on the latest news and last-minute requests.
  • Send us an email! You can join our email list, tell us any ideas for events, send us feedback or just say hello: templemoorfot@gmail.com
  • Come to our meetings. Our AGM and Welcome Meeting takes place in September at the beginning of the academic year. We also hold smaller meetings throughout the year and these will be publicised on facebook and via email. Everyone is welcome to all our meetings.
  • Talk to a member of the committee. You can find the details of our current committee in our Contact Us section. If you don’t know who to speak to, Mr Hodgson, the office staff and teachers should all be able to point you in the right direction.

Stamptastic

Stamptastic make brilliant personalised stamps and ink pads so that you can name all your belongings in just a few minutes! If you order from www.stamptastic.co.uk and quote TEMPLEMOOR then the Friends of Templemoor will automatically receive a donation. If you’d like to see one of the stamps, talk to the committee or send us a message.

Easyfundraising

Did you know that you could shop at over 2000 different online retailers and help raise money for the school at the same time? The Friends of Templemoor has registered with www.easyfundraising.org.uk. It's a really easy way to raise funds - all you do is register with the site and choose ‘Friends of Templemoor’ as your chosen charity. Then the next time you shop online, enter the Easyfundraising site and shop as normal. There is even a tool bar strip that pops up each time you visit a retailer involved to remind you to use Easyfundraising. You don't pay us anything - it's the retailers who give us a percentage of their sales!

Trading Places

Are you thinking of selling your house? We have a great scheme in place with Trading Places.

If you put your house on the market with Trading Places and it sells, they will donate 20% of their 1% fee straight to Friends of Templemoor! You must tell Trading Places that you'd like to do this on the day that you decide to use them. If you'd like to find out more, please call Lee on 07515 381465.
