WELCOME LETTER - MAY 2021
Below you will find the letter that was sent out to all our new Reception parents in May 2021.
RECEPTION PARENT HANDBOOK AND RETURNABLE FORMS 2021
Our Reception Parent Handbook is full of useful information from school lunches and top tips to learning and assessment. You can download the handbook below.
Please complete all applicable forms in the Returnable Form Booklet below and return the whole book electronically to:
by Friday 25th June 2021. We are unable to enrol your child without the completion of these forms. Thank you.
We would like to warmly invite one parent per family to a socially distanced parents’ welcome meeting at school, where you will get the opportunity to meet the Reception Team. You will also get to visit your child’s new classroom and find out a little more about life in Reception. You will have been given either Monday 12th July 2021 or Wednesday 14th July 2021 as your welcome meeting. We are running the same meeting on two evenings in order to limit the amount of parents who will be on site and have allocated the evenings based on surname. If, due to government guidance, it is not possible to meet in person, we will arrange a virtual meeting instead. Please note that this meeting is for parents only and will run from 7pm to 8pm.
RECEPTION TRANSITION HOME LEARNING BOOKLET
Below, you will find a very useful transition booklet that has been produced by Early Years 2 Primary (EY2P). It will provide you with some ideas of some transition activities that you could do over the Summer.
STAYING FOR LUNCH AND ALLERGIES
All children from Reception to Year 2 are provided with a free school meal. The school has appointed Mellors Catering Services to provide lunches for the children. Meals are cooked on site in our kitchen by our catering team. Weekly menus are available to view on our school website, and parents can choose meals with their children via a parent app (further details to follow). Mellors provide freshly produced hot specials of the day, fresh vegetables and salad, a vegetarian choice, hot and cold desserts, snacks and sandwiches. If your child has a food allergy or specific dietary requirements, please ensure that you complete the ‘Special Dietary Needs’ form in the returnable forms booklet. Further information can also be found in the ‘Allergens Parent Pack’ below.
If you have any questions or queries, no matter how small they may seem, please feel free to contact the school office on 0161 969 1622 and they will be able to help. We have also set up a dedicated email address for new reception parents:
